摘要

The writers thank the discussers for their thoughtful comments on the paper. The discussers express concern that: (1) the experimental program investigated the effect of void ratio, not consolidation, on the transport parameters; (2) the writers failed to consider osmotic effects in the study; (3) the outflow boundary condition in the form of Eq. (9) is not appropriate for the conditions tested, (4) no intrinsic mechanism was provided for the higher values of Dh for K~+ relative to values of D_h for Br~-; and (5) analysis of reser-voir concentrations, as opposed to final concentration profiles, may have biased the diffusion test results. These comments will be addressed sequentially.
