摘要

The authors presented a comprehensive account on the near-field effects in surface wave methods with active sources that employ multiple receivers in a linear array. The authors concluded that the near-field effects are primarily associated with the underestimation of measured Rayleigh phase velocities compared to the plane Rayleigh phase velocities. This discussion will examine the normalized parameters suggested by the authors to approximate maximum probable errors in measured Rayleigh phase velocities using the finite-element method and its application to surface wave tests.
