The authors have presented an interesting and useful study on the strength properties of basalt fiber-reinforced biocemented sand. The discussers would like to offer a few comments to enhance the results discussion. Figs. l(b and c) show that fiber diameter varies. It would be interesting if the authors could detail the method used to determine the 22 μm value. Stress-strain curves presented in Fig. 5 clearly show that no direct displacement measurements were performed. The authors could clarify how this issue was taken into account, especially for the strain determination and the stiffness analyses. A comparison of the authors' results with the ones of Festugato et al. (2017) is presented. Because the referenced work dealt with varying lengths of fibers, it would be interesting if the authors specified to which filament length the comparison was made.
