Failure Analysis of a Casting

摘要

Failure of a main steam strainer housing during hydraulic testing is attributed to hydrogen embrittlement associated with the welding procedure used to fit the housing to the hydraulic system. However, casting defects were also noted and recommendations to improve the quality of castings made.
