摘要

We already know much of what needs to improve in order for young people to experience better health, but we still don't know just how to bring about this change. Many ways of improving public health that look promising do not in fact "work", or they work in ways that increase the health gap between the best-off and worst-off children and young people. We noticed the message in figure 1, "Help, I'm Ill", on our way to present findings from a study of young peoples' experiences of their local health services. This was a case where change was rapid though we make no claim for cause and effect.
