Editorial

摘要

This symposium was part of the 96th annual conference of the Canadian Society for Chemistry in Quebec City, QC, May 26-30, 2013 (Canada). The aim was to gather scientists (mostly chemists) working in the area of environmental nuclear- and radio-chemistry, with a Canadian focus. Given that applications of radio-chemistry touch many branches of nuclear and environmental science, this symposium was organized to promote networking between chemists and scientists, to work on concerted programs between our institutions. Education and training in radiochemistry and related disciplines is taught in silos at several universities, but together, the expertise at our institutions is there to cover the depth and variety of the advanced bases of radiochemistry. This can cross-feed other sectors in the sciences.
