摘要

Buildings have important effects on the health and several performances of human because a long part of the human life passes inside the buildings. That is why the physical conditions in the buildings should be suitable for the human health. One of the important properties of the ecological buildings is providing suitable comfort conditions inside the building by natural methods without consuming energy. The aim of this paper is to study the life quality and comfort conditions in traditional buildings. It is believed that traditional buildings, which have many environmental properties, provide suitable inside life quality by consuming low energy. That is why taking into account the traditional buildings in the Thrace (Turkey) region as an example, a field research is made and the properties of the buildings are researched. Besides, a public survey is made for understanding the satisfaction of the building inside comfort conditions of the people who live in these houses and the survey results are evaluated. As a result of the evaluation, it is understood that the users are satisfied by the inside comfort conditions. According to the obtained results, the positive effects of environmental/ecological properties of the traditional buildings on the life quality and comfort conditions are discussed. It is believed that this knowledge will be guiding for the design of today buildings.
