摘要

This article refers to a novel approach concerning the use of green (renewable energy) source offered by the short rotation plantation for the energy production (heat, cold and electricity), mainly by cogeneration and tri-generation. District heating (DH) and district cooling (DC) technologies are based on the present-day needs and state of art knowledge, under current necessity when bio-energy is expected to replace fossil generated energy, for both environmental reasons but also for the fact that fossil fuel resources are attending their limit and have also raising prices. One reflects on the basic features of DH and DC and on the ways the systems are expected to evolve throughout their subsequent stages of development, showing why they are key infrastructures for a resource efficient European energy system; both of today and of the future, under the circumstances of controlling the CO_2 emission. DH&DC provide a flexible infrastructure able to integrate a wide range of (renewable) energy sources on large scale. Basically the most tempting bio-energy form for Romania is the biomass, and short rotation plantation (coppice) might be a solution. Some examples from the present market are offered.
