摘要

Abstract. The liquid petroleum gas (LPG) is an alternative fuel for diesel engine with real future opportunities due to the following aspects: the NC_x emission level is lower; the particulate matter (PM) emission is indistinguishable; CO-2 emission is maintained to the same level; the engine power is the same or can be increased; the automotive autonomy increases; the HC (unburned hydrocarbons) and CO emissions level decreases; LPG protects the particles filter and environment because does not contain sulphur; the infrastructure for LPG distribution already exists. The authors used the diesel-gas method for LPG fuelling diesel engine. The paper presents some results of the theoretical and experimental investigations at a LPG fuelled diesel engine with 1500 1 displacement. It is distinguished the important influence of the LPG to energetically and pollutant performance of the engine for its different operating regimes: slightly decreasing of the brake specifically fuel consumption; significant decreasing of the HC and NO_x emissions level; significant decreasing of the smoke emission level.
