INDUSTRIAL WASTES USED IN PAVEMENT LAYERS

摘要

Pozzolanic binders (blast furnace slag and fly ash) are waste materials with high ecological impact due to the large quantities of their production and to the large dumping areas of land taken out of the agricultural circuit. This paper presents some of the studies and laboratory and field experiments performed in order to determine the possibilities of realising road layers made up of materials stabilised with pozzolanic binders. The mentioned tests lead to the conclusion that road layers realised in materials stabilised with pozzolanic binders present important technical, economical and energetic advantages.
