ATTITUDES AND OPINIONS OF SOCIAL MEDIA USERS ON RENEWABLE ENERGY

This paper aims to investigate and analyse the attitudes and opinions of a sample of social media users regarding renewable energy sources (RES). The data for this research were collected through the use of an appropriately structured questionnaire that was administered online to a sample group associated with agriculture and forestry sciences. For the initial understanding of the respondents' attitudes and views, methods of descriptive statistics were used. To further investigate their level of knowledge of RES and carry out an analysis of the basic components as structural characteristics, principal axis factoring (PAP) analysis was employed. This analysis revealed that knowledge of RES comprises four pillars: 'economics of RES', 'friendliness towards the Environment', 'usability and application of RES' and 'efficiency of RES'.
