RESEARCH ON ECOTOURISTS' ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY AND ECOTOURISM COGNITION BASED ON PLACE ATTACHMENT

Along with changes in social environment and the promotion of people's environmental protection and ecological conservation concepts, joining in characteristic village tours, visiting humanities and historic sites, participation in ecotourism in national parks, and listening to interpretation become popular in domestic tourism in past years. The popularity of environmental awareness, the advance of conservation area management concept, and the change in consumer market have ecotourism cognition become a trend in academia and practice. Aiming at ecotourists in Guilin, total 460 copies of questionnaire are distributed for this study, and 337 valid copies are retrieved, with the retrieval rate 73%. The research results reveal significantly positive relations between (1) environmental responsibility and place attachment, (2) place attachment and ecotourism cognition, and (3) environmental responsibility and ecotourism cognition. It is expected to enhance the positive effects on ecotourism styles, reduce negative environmental impact, and achieve the sustainable development of ecotourism.
