Sony's Camcorder Campaign Offers Choice of Media

In preparation for the Christmas shopping season, Sony Corp. is bringing out three high-definition (HD) camcorders, each of which features a different kind of media. One model, the HDR-UX1, uses DVDs. The second model, the HDR-SR1, incorporates a hard disc drive. Both of these models comply with the Advanced Video Codec High Definition (AVCHD) standard, a standard for digital HD camcorders that accommodate DVD and HDD media. The third model, the HDR-HC3, uses MiniDV tapes and complies with the HDV format.
