As Victor Company of Japan, Ltd. (JVC) carries out structural reforms in its display business, it continues to strengthen its organizational system. Through these steps, management aims to counteract declines in TV sales and to improve the efficiency of its production system in Japan. Says Masahiro Shimoda, Senior Staff Manager of the Business Planning Department for the Display Category at JVC, "In our product-related activities, we are concentrating on developing areas that will enable us to cultivate distinctive products. By avoiding similarities with competing products, we are developing models that have a high-grade video and audio appeal - at a level available only from JVC."
