FMA Plans To Expand Activities for American Auto Business

Newly formed Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) is focusing on boosting sales of application-specific standard products (ASSPs), such as graphic display controllers (GDCs) and controllers compliant with the IDB-1394 in-vehicle information system network, for the North American in-vehicle market. FMA, the American subsidiary of Fujitsu Microelectronics Ltd., was established in March when Fujitsu Ltd. spun off its LSI division. FMA, headquartered in California, is tackling the auto-related business through its base in Detroit, Michigan, the hub of North American automotive market.
