Sharp Corp. and Toshiba Corp. plan to work more closely in the areas of LCDs and semiconductors. According to goals the companies have announced, Sharp will purchase about 50 percent of its system LSIs for LCD TVs from Toshiba, and Toshiba will purchase about 40 percent of its LCD modules for 32-inch or larger TVs from Sharp by FY2010. Both companies will begin increasing supplies to each other in FY2008.
