The global shipments of large-area thin-film transistor (TFT) LCD modules for the third quarter of 2007 increased 41 percent year-on-year to 108.8 million units, market research and consulting firm DisplaySearch said in its 3rd Quarter Large-Area TFT LCD Shipment Report. This figure exceeded the initial industry projection as manufacturers increased their productivity. The average display size increased 7 percent year-on-year, driving the display area shipments up 62 percent year-on-year to 15 million square meters during the quarter.
