Medical library clients seek information about complementary and alternative medicine for a variety of reasons. Some clients want to support or disprove various diagnoses, therapies, or descriptions of pathologies. Some simply want to know more before making up their minds. Many need to learn so that they can better understand the beliefs of their patients and students. This carefully annotated bibliography could be useful for collection development or for reference services such as readers' advisory. It is not a reference work per se. The first chapter covers general complementary and alternative medicine information sources, and the other 23 cover information sources for specific healing practices. Each begins with a brief description of the history of the practice, its primary uses, and the training required for practitioners.
