摘要

While the idea of "fake news" is not new, use of the term has proliferated since 2016, particularly in relation to U.S. politics. The openness and ease of publishing information on the internet have both positive and negative aspects that may be more prevalent now than ever before. With the wide variety of information available, such as articles, memes, social media posts, and more, how can anyone tell whether something is trustworthy? Donald A. Barclay's book Fake News, Propaganda, and Plain Old Lies: How to Find Trustworthy Information in the Digital Age aims to provide guidance on all aspects of understanding the "fake news phenomenon" and how to better evaluate online sources, including statistics and scholarly information.
