A Sampling of EW Simulators

On December 21, 2000, the Of-fice of the Assistant Secretary of Defense released notice of a multiple award contract to eleven companies for the Live Simulation Domain, a simulation system for military operations. This acquisition is structured to contain a "Lot" for each US Army Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM) business domain: Lot Ⅰ (Live - Training and Devices), Lot Ⅱ (Virtual - Combined Arms Tactical Trainer), Lot Ⅲ (Constructive - Warfighter Simulation), and Lot IV (Test-Instrumentation - Instrumentation, Threats, and Targets). A ceiling of $4 billion over an eight-year orderrning period exists for the four separate Lots of the effort. The companies selected for the December award will bernprovided with an opportunity to compete for further individual task orders under the Lot Ⅰ level of effort. Lot Ⅲ, the first of four lots, was awarded on September 21, 2000. Multiple awards for Lots Ⅱ and IV will be made in the near future.
