GAN BASED SOLID STATE POWER AMPLIFIER (SSPA)

Herley (a Kratos Company) has introduced a new GaN-based SSPA, model SGN-X3-100 optimized for pulse mode. The new model maintains reliability and output power degradation from gallium arsenide (GaAs) devices, while adding the efficiency and power consumption benefits of GaN. The SGN-X3-100 operates in the X band up to 500 MHz with output power of 100W and an optional upgrade of up to 400W. Frequency range is from 8.5-11 GHz with a maximum pulse width of 150 μsec.
