Influence of different ambient calcium levels on proximate composition of Labeo rohita (0.802 g) was evaluated after a period of 30 days. The moisture content was found to decrease with increase in ambient calcium level and it showed a negative correlation (r=-0.9901), while carbohydrate, protein and lipid levels increased with increase in concentration of calcium (r=0.9196, 0.9971 and 0.9624, respectively). It reveals the suitability of L. rohita for alkaline waters.
