摘要

The teleost fish Labeo rohita was exposed to heavy metal (mercury Ⅰ chloride & mercury Ⅱ chloride) and toxic effects were analysed. The LC50 96 hr values were 211.9 ppb of monovalent and 131.9 ppb of divalent mercury were estimated and various sub lethal concentrations like 100,150,200,250 and 300 ppb were selected. The depletion of muscle, liver glycogen and elevated blood glucose levels were observed in the sub lethal concentrations in 3,6 and 9 hours exposure by both forms. The individuals treated both in the LC50 and sublethal concentrations and higher toxicity was noticed in mercury Ⅱ than mercury Ⅰ.
