Lead Content Of Blood And Hair Of Smelters And Their Impact On Haemoglobin And Protein

Lead content of blood and hair of smelters was investigated and found that one fold increase of lead (41.04mg/dl & 92.33mg/dl) compared to non-smelters (16.33mg/dl & 21.67mg/dl).The lead content of hair of smelters (92.33mg/dl) one time higher than their blood lead (41.04mg/dl).The haemoglobin and protein content were decreased to 10.69 g% andl2.37g/dl in the blood of smelters.The haemoglobin and protein levels in the smelters blood inversely proportionate to their blood lead.The elevation of lead content in the blood, and hair of smelters was found to be a strong positive correlation with their age and experience.But the haemoglobin and protein content of smelters was found to be a strong negative correlation with their age and experience.
