How Big Banks Fail and What to Do about It is a strong book. Somewhat regrettably, the book managed to appear both a bit too late and a bit too early to influence public policy. The book came along a little too late because its highly efficient analysis of the business of the mega financial institutions that were at the heart of the financial crisis was published in 2011, a bit late to be of use in 2007 and 2008 when we were in the throes of the crisis.
