Moral Hazard in Health Insurance

The annual Kenneth J. Arrow Lecture at Columbia University highlights an economist whose work "builds on Arrow's scholarship as well as his innovative spirit." The fifth in the series was delivered in 2012 by Amy Finkelstein, who discussed research inspired by Arrow s seminal 1963 article, "Uncertainty and the Welfare Economics of Medical Care." Those unable to attend the lecture in person can experience it through Moral Hazard in Health Insurance, which features Finkelstein's lecture ensconced between prefatory remarks (by Joseph P. Newhouse and Joseph E. Stiglitz) and postlecture commentary (including discussion and comments by Jonathan Gruber, Stiglitz, and Arrow himself). The Arrow article is also included in the book.
