Among the 55 journals in the Agriculture, Dairy and Animal Science category, the Journal of Dairy Science® was ranked second by Impact Factor, first by 5-Year Impact Factor, and first by Eigenfactor Score (which removes self-citations). The 2011 Impact Factor for JDS increased to 2.564, up from 2.497 in 2010. Most of the increase in Impact Factor between 2010 and 2011 occurred because the number of citations to the most frequently cited papers increased significantly.
