The cinema of Catherine Breillat is noted for its violent and provocative investigations of human sexuality. While her 2001 film [Agrave] ma sÅur! does indeed have much to say about the emergence of adolescent female desire and the betrayal of male romantic discourse, it interrogates more importantly the intrapsychic nature of sexual fantasy and experience through its recreation of the primal scene trauma.
