Single crystal growth of CrB2 using a high-temperature image furnace

Single crystals of CrB2 have been grown by the floating zone technique. A high-temperature Xenon arc lamp image furnace was used for the crystal growth. The crystals grown by this method are found to be of high quality and are readily characterised by the magnetic transition at T similar to 88 K, as measured by magnetic susceptibility measurements.
