From Stasiland to Ostalgie: The GDR Twenty Years After

This themed issue of Oxford German Studies, arising from a seminar series held early in 2009, was published with impressive efficiency last November to coincide with the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. It is not only the first of a number of forthcoming volumes taking stock of the historical GDR and post-unification memory politics; it is also distinctive in the sense that all eleven contributors are associated with Oxford, as members of staff, graduates or visiting fellows.
