The web panels of slender plate girders are often subjected to combined bending, shear and localised compressive edge or patch loading. While interaction formulae have been proposed, and validated by test results, for their ultimate resistance to combinations of any two of the three forms of loading, no interaction formula appears to have been proposed for combinations of all three forms of loading. Herein an interaction formula for the ultimate resistance of slender plate girder web panels, to combined bending, shear and patch loading, is proposed an validated by test results.
