摘要

First of all, we would like to thank the discussers for their interest in our paper and their insightful comments on our work. Our responses to their individual comments are given below. 1. The point regarding shear strengthening configuration is well taken. We agree with the discussers that the use of diagonal strips, which involves a slightly more complicated retrofitting process, can lead to improved shear performance. This aspect should certainly be further investigated in the future. The focus of the present paper is on the effect of size and we have decided to stay with vertical strips, which are most commonly employed in practice.
