Adhesive Systems for Textile Fabrics

For many years the lamination of textiles has been done with solvent- based, high molecular adhesives containing low solids content. Recently solvent-based high-solids systems as well as dispersion-based adhesives have gained acceptance. The use of solvent free systems being processed in the shape of reactive hotmelts or "warm-melts" is particularly advantageous. The application of reactive, thermal cross-linkable coatings on textiles of fabrics enables the production of high-quality materials using either an in-line or off-line technique.
