The target was to compare more or less linear polyethylenes (PE-HD and PE-LLD) and branched low-density polyethylenes (PE-LD) in extru- sion coating. Adhesion, water vapor barrier, and rheological properties were studied. Rheological properties, in this cotext, include draw down an neck-in in extrusion Coating and rheological determinations with slit-die rheometer. Rheological parame- Ters, such as viscosity and Power law constant n, were determine at the same temper- Atures (195 and 315deg.C) as the resin melt temperatures in the extrusion coating Experiments.
