Quantitative molecular virology in patient management

摘要

Viral genome quantification now forms an integral part of the management of HIV infected patients, providing pretreatment prognostic information as well as monitoring a therapeutic response. The next few years are likely to see the expansion of the clinical appli- cations of nucleic acid quantification, with its use in the monitoring of HBV and HCV infected patients on antiviral treatment.
