摘要

The Songliao basin, and important petroliferous Mesozoic basin in Northeast China, is com- posed of two proto-types of basins, the lower one was dominated by rifting, resulted in the forma- tion of nearly 40 faulted basins; the upper one was dominated by the thermal-induced subsidence. Based on the regional tectonic events and sequence boundary surfaces, three tectonic sequences and eleven sequences are recognized in the basin. The deep process is a direct driving mechanism of the formation of the Mesozoic Songliao basin.
