Many companies have a solid understanding of their performance in customer relationships, but only a few companies manage customers well. Relationships are more difficult today because the so-called typical customer no longer exists. This is a lesson that companies have been learning the hard way. More and more, they realize that long-term customers are valuable assets. Companies understand that business success and future growth depend on profitable customer relationships.
