摘要

The writers thank the discusser for his interest in the paper. The following responds to the issues and suggestions raised by the discusser: 1. It is suggested that the self-weight be increased to allow for impact particularly during shipping and lifting girders. 2. It is argued that the girder constraints during erection might be different from the AASHTO/load and resistance factor design (LRFD) formula, in which a beam is assumed to be laterally and torsionally restrained at its supports. However, the cables only provide a partial lateral and torsional restraint to a girder under lifting, and a girder supported at the pier is not fully braced against torsion.
