As a conclusion to 2017, on December 11 AES Austria and AES Student Section Vienna visited the SynchronStage in Vienna. We experienced deep insights in the daily work of the modern studio in which countless recordings were made for prominent artists (Hans Zimmer, Peter Morgan, etc.) and for blockbuster movies and series (Inferno, The Crown). Several staff members led us through the whole building and informed us not only about technical and audio related aspects but also about the historical development of the company and the building, which is under historical protection. Within the tour, everybody's interests were piqued and what was initially planned for 90 minutes was stretched with many questions from the audience to a 2.5 hour experience. To conclude the evening, we all discussed our impressions from the excursion over food and drinks in a nearby restaurant.
