Handbook of statistical distributions with applications

This book comes complete with a PC software package called StatCalc which calculates, for a wide range of distributions, 'table values', i.e. probabilities and quantiles, moments and other functionals, and a number of associated hypothesis tests and confidence and tolerance intervals. Commendably, the inference procedures include power and sample size calculations. Some of the more sophisticated inference uses algorithms developed in recent articles by the author and colleagues. The software is easy and quick to use and I found no reason to doubt the author's claim of stringent testing for accuracy. A couple of misprints and a slightly unclear way of presenting the results of confidence interval calculations are my only minor gripes with the software.
