In conclusion, we have developed a new method for the preparation of calixarene analogues via intramolecular success- sive C-C bind formation; we call this reaction a "tandem Claisen rearrangement. This reaction is an entirely new route For the synthesis of new types of calixarene analogues. To our Knowledge, this is the first example of calixarene analogues Produced from macrocyclic polyether 2 in a one-step reaction.
