Canadian marine technology company Kraken Robotics has secured orders from Denmark and Poland for the supply of Katfish towed Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) systems for mine counter-measures (MCM) applications. The Katfish system - comprising an actively controlled smart towfish, SAS imaging, bathymetry and gap-filler sonars, a launch and recovery system, operator console, and visualisation software - is used to generate real-time, ultra-high resolution seabed images and 3D maps for a variety of military and commercial applications. The system's primary sensors are based on Kraken's AquaPix miniature interferometric SAS (MINSAS) 180 technology.
