Rear Admiral Ewa Skoog Haslum

Rear Admiral Ewa Skoog Haslum took over as chief of navy for the Royal Swedish Navy (RSwN) in January 2020 at a time when security challenges in the Baltic region are continuing to increase. The navy has been busy prioritising operations in this region as it seeks to improve readiness and presence to support Swedish and wider international security requirements there. The service is also continuing to plan ahead, as it seeks to deliver new platforms and to optimise their output. Within the context, Rear Adm Skoog Haslum has a clear set of short- and longer-term priorities, covering operational, capability, and personnel elements within the RSwN's wider contribution to national security.
