First new landing craft ready for delivery

The first of eight new landing craft being procured under the MB's Small Boats Construction Programme is due to be completed by AMRJ in March, with the remainder scheduled for delivery on a two-to-three month drumbeat concluding in 2012, writes Tim Fish. The project consists of three 41 m Landing Craft Utility (Embarcacoes de Desembarque de Carga Geral - EDCG) and five 21.8 m Landing Craft Medium (Embarcacoes de Desembarque de Viaturas e Material - EDVM).
