Space-surveillance satellite completes initial ground-testing

Boeing has successfully completed initial testing of the integrated Space Based Space Surveillance (SBSS) satellite and has demonstrated the end-to-end mission functionality of the ground and space components of the planned system, writes Doug Richardson.rnThe SSBS satellite is due to be launched in second quarter of 2009. It is designed to detect and track distant orbiting space objects, including potential future threats to US space assets.
