The us government is to issue separate sole-sourced contracts to four defence companies for development of the Long-Range Stand-off (LRSO) missile programme, it announced on 5 December 2012. These firm-fixed-price contracts will be awarded to Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman for the Technology Development (TD) phase in the development of a new cruise missile for the US Air Force (USAF). Each company had until 20 December 2012 to respond with its interest and capability in the programme.
