Government acceptance tests of the next evolution of the US Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2) command system, designated the FBCB2 Joint Capabilities Release (JCR) were due to begin as IDR went to press in November. This is essentially an enhancement of the satellite-based version of FBCB2, otherwise known as FBCB2-BFT (Blue Force Tracking), and represents the first step in the convergence of US Army and US Marine Corps (USMC) battle management systems (BMS).
