High-speed Hummingbird UAV displays cargo-delivery and sensor capabilities

Boeing's A160T Hummingbird rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has long been promoted as a sensor platform, but in mid-March it proved itself in a new role as a load-lugger by completing a cargo delivery demonstration for the US Marine Corps Warfight-ing Laboratory.rnDuring the demonstration, the UAV successfully picked up and delivered 1,250 lb (567 kg) of cargo - split in half for two delivery runs - to a point 75 n miles away in "well under" the six hours allotted for the trial.
