NAVAIR develops launch equipment for KC-130T sonobuoy testing

A palletised sonobuoy launching system developed by the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has been delivered to support sonobuoy testing by AirTest and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 30 using Lockheed Martin KC-130T tanker aircraft. Adapted from SH-60B helicopter sonobuoy launchers, the new launcher equipment has been introduced to address the gap caused by the retirement of the Lockheed S-3B Viking aircraft, which were previously used to conduct such tests.
