National security advisers (NSAs) from Western allies gathered at NATO headquarters in Brussels on 28 May to discuss hybrid threats to critical infrastructure (CI), with the agenda including closer consultations on situational awareness intelligence between civil and military authorities to protect CI. Noting that "good intelligence is good deterrence", NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told a press meeting that the group had discussed ways to improve its collective situational awareness and intelligence sharing. According to Stoltenberg, "Many of our countries have suffered from different types of hybrid attacks. In isolation we may not always see the pattern, but together we can connect the dots to see the full picture".
